Where is
practice? If there is no special notation
after a given practice time, practice will be held at Oak-Land
Junior High, our home pool. If there is a special notation
after a given practice time, check the abbreviation list below to
determine the practice location. (Note: "D" designates
dryland practice.) See the "Pool Locations" tab above for
maps to the various pools.
When does practice
start? The times shown on the calendars
indicate actual pool time. Swimmers should arrive early
enough to be ready to start swimming at the start time listed on
the calendar. "D" designates dryland practice. If there
is a "D" next to your practice time, dryland will start 30 minutes
before your scheduled pool time (unless otherwise noted by a
coach). Contact your coach if you have questions.
SCSC Outdoor Swim Practice
Weather Policy: In the event of inclement
weather involving lightening, when possible, a decision about the
cancellation of practice will be made at least 45 minutes before
the start of practice (or dryland). Check the SCSC website under "What's
New" for a possible practice cancellation notice before coming to
the pool. Please be advised, however, that it
may be necessary to cancel practice on short notice (less than 45
minutes before the start of practice, or even during
practice). Therefore, do not drop off your swimmer at an
outdoor pool and leave the area if there is ANY chance that
practice may be canceled due to inclement weather involving
lightening. As long as there is no lightening near the
vicinity of the outdoor pool, practice will continue during rain
and cool temperatures.
